Inspiration

The inspiration for EduPass came from the need to support first-generation, low-income students who face challenges such as financial difficulties, limited career opportunities, and long travel times to college. EduPass provides a comprehensive platform with resources for financial planning, career development, community building, and remote learning. Additionally, the feed section helps students earn skills and money by participating in hackathon competitions and finding internships, with opportunities while studying which is available both online and offline.

What it does

Features a Feed Section: Helps students earn skills and money through hackathon competitions and internships, with options available both online and offline.

Enables Remote Learning: Allows students to learn from home, reducing the need for long travel times.

Facilitates Community Building: Connects students through forums and networking features.

Offers Career Opportunities: Lists job and internship opportunities, along with career development resources.

How we built it

EduPass was designed and prototyped using Figma, allowing for detailed visual design, user interface mockups, and interactive prototypes. This facilitated clear communication of the design vision and user experience before development began.

Challenges we ran into

Design Complexity: Ensuring the platform's design was user-friendly and accessible for first-generation, low-income students, while incorporating all the desired features.

Feedback Implementation: Iterating on designs and features based on user feedback to ensure the platform meets their needs and preferences.

User Engagement: Designing a feed section that effectively engages users and encourages participation in hackathons and internships.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Comprehensive Solution: Successfully developed a platform that addresses multiple needs of first-generation, low-income students, including financial planning, career opportunities, and remote learning.

User-Centric Design: Created an intuitive and accessible design using Figma, ensuring that the platform is user-friendly and meets the needs of your target audience.

Innovative Features: Integrated unique features in the feed section, allowing students to earn skills and money through hackathons and internships, with options available online and offline.

What we learned

User Research: Gained insights into the needs and challenges faced by first-generation, low-income students, enhancing your ability to design user-centered solutions.

Design Thinking: Improved your skills in creating intuitive and accessible designs using tools like Figma, focusing on user experience and interface design.

Feature Integration: Learned how to integrate various functionalities into a cohesive platform, balancing complexity with usability.

Prototyping & Testing: Understood the importance of prototyping and testing to refine designs and features based on user feedback and ensure platform effectiveness.
