Inspiration
Traditional learning management systems are often fragmented. We inspired to build EduOS to provide a "desktop-like" experience where all educational tools coexist, reducing cognitive load for students.
What it does
EduOS acts as a virtual workspace containing:
- Learning Hub: Centralized access to study materials.
- Task Manager: Integrated deadline tracking.
- Interactive Environment: A UI that mimics an OS for better multitasking and organization of educational apps.
How we built it
The platform was developed using Replit as the primary IDE. We utilized a mix of frontend technologies to create the window-based interface and implemented the core logic to handle educational data workflows.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was ensuring the "OS-like" responsiveness within a web environment and managing the state of multiple open "educational apps" simultaneously under a strict time limit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a functional prototype that demonstrates how a unified interface can improve focus and efficiency in digital learning.
What we learned
We gained deep insights into building complex UI architectures on Replit and learned the importance of user-centric design in educational technology.
What's next for EduOS
- AI Tutoring: Integration of an AI assistant.
- Collaborative Desktops: Allowing students to work together in the same virtual space.
- Teacher Dashboard: Real-time monitoring of student progress.
