Inspiration

My own life has been the biggest source of inspiration. As a B.Tech (ECE) student working at Zomato, I’ve been building my skills as a Full Stack Developer while also focusing on my health by going to the gym regularly. This experience made me realize that many students live a life like mine — juggling multiple responsibilities while facing financial challenges.

Many of us hesitate to ask our parents for money, because we feel that our dreams are ours alone, not theirs. Personally, I only ask for what’s necessary to cover my education fees. This mindset, combined with the daily hustle, inspired me to build something meaningful for students who are walking a similar path.

What it does

EduOrbit helps students manage their routines, increase productivity, and maintain balance in their academic and personal lives. From organizing tasks to tracking health and habits, it aims to simplify student life through a single, integrated platform.

How we built it

I built EduOrbit using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js). The frontend includes responsive UI/UX design, and I plan to integrate full backend functionality soon to make it a fully usable product.

Challenges we ran into

Designing the layout and structure in a way that’s both intuitive and functional was a big challenge. I expect more technical challenges as I move into backend development and user authentication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing the UI/UX design was a major milestone. It feels great to see the vision take shape visually. Though the backend is yet to be developed, I’m proud of taking the first big steps solo.

What we learned

I learned how to stay consistent and push forward even when working alone. I also learned how to better utilize tools like ChatGPT, Material UI, and other technologies to solve problems and speed up development.

What's next for EduOrbit

Next, I plan to integrate full backend functionality, including user authentication, scheduling logic, and cloud-based storage. I also want to introduce features that help students improve holistically — not just in academics, but also in sports, health, and tech. The goal is to build a platform that empowers students to become the best version of themselves.
