Inspiration

I am a high school student in Mexico and have seen too many problems with the country's teaching methods. This has consequences for the country's youth, and access to a good education in the first years of life for children is very expensive, something more than 70% of the population needs help to afford. This problem was part of my reality; since I was a child, I have been interested in STEM, but my family could not afford courses or programs on these subjects like many other families; this problem limited my possibilities, and it was a little challenging to find free information. So I created an application guided by your learning method to teach you various subjects ranging from elementary school to the first years of college. This application will allow many students or people interested in learning new things to access courses and subjects for free.

What it does

At the moment, the application has options for students who are visual learners and want to learn mathematics, giving them the option to learn essential math topics such as fractions.

How we built it

The prototype of the application was built with Thunkable.

Challenges we ran into

There were many challenges that I faced, whether it was the choice of the subject matter, the design of the prototype (which is going to be improved), the images that describe the buttons, etc., but I think what challenged me the most was to think of a solution that truly helps to improve the quality of education of the students.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that the prototype aligns with improving the quality of education for students. Also, Edunnix was presented to some high school and college teachers who will create the content for different learning methods in different subjects. So, it will improve the content since people who specialize in the subjects will create it.

What we learned

I learned that education is the basis for a good society. It is crucial to have students and people prepared for future challenges, just as it is essential to follow your passions without limitations of age and money.

What's next for Edunnix

I will improve the design through field research with students and show them designs to choose the most visually appealing ones. We will start creating a website to offer a website and application. Both will be with html5 and CSS. We will expand the curriculum and put a lot of effort into creating quality content for all learning methods and according to their age. Finally, the website and application will have a version in many languages, such as English, French, Portuguese, etc.
