EduNavigator - Guiding Educational Journeys
Inspiration
The inspiration for EduNavigator came from the challenges many students face in selecting the right courses amidst a vast array of options. We aimed to simplify this process by creating an intelligent platform that provides personalized recommendations based on students' academic performance and career interests.
What it does
EduNavigator leverages AI to recommend courses tailored to individual student profiles. By analyzing academic records, extracurricular activities, and career aspirations, it offers suggestions for university courses, online certifications, and skill-building workshops.
How we built it
The project was developed using Node.js for the backend, along with Express.js to handle server requests. MongoDB was utilized for data storage, allowing us to maintain user profiles and course information efficiently. For the front end, we used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, creating an interactive and user-friendly interface.
Challenges we ran into
We faced several challenges, including:
- Ensuring the accuracy of course recommendations through effective algorithm design.
- Implementing a responsive and visually appealing user interface.
- Integrating AI-driven features within a limited timeframe during the hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of developing a fully functional prototype that effectively demonstrates personalized course recommendations. We also successfully implemented a user-friendly interface that enhances the overall user experience.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we learned the importance of collaboration and time management in a hackathon setting. We gained valuable insights into AI implementation for educational purposes and improved our skills in web development.
What's next for EduNavigator
Moving forward, we plan to enhance EduNavigator by incorporating more advanced machine learning algorithms for better recommendations. We aim to expand the database of courses and include feedback mechanisms to continually improve our suggestions. Additionally, we are exploring partnerships with educational institutions for broader reach and impact.
