Inspiration

Students often struggle to understand complex topics, create proper notes, and prepare for exams efficiently. As a B.Tech student myself, I realized that learners need a personal mentor who is available anytime, explains concepts clearly, and helps with revision. This inspired me to build EduMentor AI — an AI-powered study mentor that uses Gemini AI to support students in learning faster and smarter.

What it does

EduMentor AI helps students by: Explaining academic concepts in simple and easy language Generating short notes for quick revision Creating MCQs and quizzes for practice Acting like a personal tutor available 24/7 Students can enter any topic, and the AI instantly provides structured explanations, notes, and quizzes.

How we built it

The project is built using a modern web stack and Gemini AI: Frontend provides a clean and student-friendly interface Backend handles user input and AI requests Gemini AI API is used to: Generate explanations Create notes Produce quiz questions dynamically The system is designed to be simple, fast, and scalable for future features.

Challenges we ran into

Designing prompts to get accurate and student-friendly responses Structuring AI output into clear notes and quizzes Ensuring the UI remains simple and distraction-free Understanding how to best integrate Gemini AI for educational use Overcoming these challenges helped me learn a lot about AI prompt engineering, UI/UX thinking, and real-world problem solving.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

How to integrate Gemini AI into a real-world application Prompt engineering for education-focused outputs Building AI-powered tools that solve practical problems Importance of user experience in learning applications
