🚀 Inspiration

Education should be accessible and personalized for everyone — not just students. Edumate was inspired by the idea that AI can become your everyday learning mate — from summarizing YouTube lessons, explaining complex topics, to analyzing your financial knowledge growth.

🧠 What it does

Edumate v3 is an AI-powered education platform built around three pillars:

1. AI Chatroom (Gemini + Elastic Search) — hybrid RAG chatbot that answers questions intelligently, even when API quota runs out.

2. YouTube Summarizer — just paste a link, and Edumate summarizes the content in structured format (key points, examples, and explanation).

3. Finance Analyzer — real-time market data, explained in natural language with financial insights from TwelveData API.

Additional features:

Quiz generator with voice & pastel UI

Study Mode with structured explanations (history → definition → examples → solutions)

Customizable themes, background, fonts, and music

⚙️ How we built it

Backend: Built with FastAPI, connected to PostgreSQL and Elastic Cloud for hybrid reasoning (Gemini + Elastic).

Frontend: Next.js (React) + Tailwind CSS, optimized for mobile (Termux-based dev).

AI Layer: Gemini model via Vertex AI for generative reasoning; Elastic Search for vector retrieval.

Deployment: Tested via Cloudflare Tunnel (since GCP deployment pending due to hardware limits).

💪 Challenges we ran into

Running a fullstack AI system in Termux (Android) environment with ARM64 was challenging (SWC compiler, tunnel stability, memory limits).

Synchronizing Cloudflare tunnels between backend and frontend manually each session.

Limited time for final deployment before deadline.

🌟 Accomplishments that we're proud of

Fully functional backend with JWT auth, Elastic integration, and modular API system.

Frontend UI complete with animations, themes, and connected pages.

Successfully connected AI reasoning (Gemini + Elastic) locally.

Built entirely on mobile device (Termux Ubuntu).

Deep understanding of hybrid AI systems (RAG + reasoning models).

Advanced FastAPI architecture with modular design.

Overcoming deployment limitations through creative cloud tunneling (Cloudflare).

Resilience — debugging and building under extreme time constraints.

Deploy to Google Cloud Run + Elastic Cloud with a permanent endpoint.

Integrate Google OAuth login.

Launch “Edumate Brain” — self-learning QnA memory system powered by Elastic vectors.

Release mobile-friendly PWA version with offline quiz support.
