Inspiration
We are a team of young coding mentors from a small town in Estonia. We have been mentoring small groups of kids offline for 9 months, parents and students loved our innovative approach, before this crisis started we had over 50 students attending our classes weekly. We have been forced to stop our learning process because of the Covid-19 outbreak. But since we are dedicated to what we do, we wanted to continue our classes online, we soon found that there isn't a platform online that would combine all of the aspects of our teaching practices (project based learning, reflections, easily sharable mentor plans). In order to continue it efficiently, still staying non-formal and interactive, we are building an IT education platform that will coincide with our values and mentoring practices.
How it works
Currently, our project is in the idea phase, but through our platform, we plan to connect independent mentors and make the sharing of non-formal lessons easier. The platform will also give an option to students to create projects on it and follow lesson plans created by other mentors
Challenges
We are currently working on how the concept and idea should look like by surveying our students and potential users.
