Inspiration
We kept seeing the same problem again and again — students, especially in India, miss out on scholarships and opportunities just because they don’t know about them or the process feels too complicated. There’s a lot of information online, but it’s scattered, confusing, and not personalized.
That’s where the idea of EduGrant AI came from — what if students had a simple tool that could guide them, suggest the right opportunities, and make the whole process easier?
What it does
EduGrant AI helps students discover scholarships, grants, and educational opportunities that actually match their profile. Instead of searching endlessly, users just enter their details and get personalized recommendations.
It also simplifies things by guiding them step-by-step — from finding opportunities to understanding eligibility and application requirements. Basically, it acts like a smart assistant for students navigating their academic journey.
How we built it
We built EduGrant AI using modern web technologies to keep it fast and accessible. The frontend is designed to be clean and simple so that students from any background can use it easily.
On the backend, we integrated AI to analyze user inputs and match them with relevant opportunities. We also worked on structuring data in a way that the recommendations actually make sense instead of being random suggestions.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was handling data — scholarships and grants don’t come in a clean format, so organizing and standardizing them took time.
Another challenge was making the AI recommendations useful. At first, the results were too broad, so we had to refine how the system understands user profiles.
Also, keeping the platform simple while adding useful features was a constant balancing act.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re really proud that we turned a complex problem into something simple and usable.
The biggest win for us is that EduGrant AI can actually help students who might not have access to proper guidance. Even in its current stage, it already saves time and reduces confusion.
Also, building a working AI-powered platform as a team was a huge achievement for us.
What we learned
We learned that building something useful is more important than building something complicated.
We also understood how important user experience is — even a powerful tool is useless if people find it hard to use.
And of course, we got hands-on experience with integrating AI into a real-world application, which taught us a lot about both its potential and its limitations.
What's next for EduGrant
We want to make EduGrant AI smarter and more personalized.
Next, we plan to add features like application tracking, deadline reminders, and even AI-powered form assistance. We also want to expand our database so students can discover more opportunities globally.
Our long-term goal is to make EduGrant AI a one-stop platform for students — not just for finding opportunities, but for actually achieving them.
