EduGenie – AI Student Assistant

Inspiration

Many students struggle to find personalized academic support outside the classroom. They often spend hours searching for reliable study materials, solving doubts, organizing notes, and preparing for exams. We wanted to create an AI-powered assistant that acts like a personal tutor—available anytime, anywhere—to make learning simpler, faster, and more engaging.

What it does

EduGenie is an AI-powered student learning platform that helps students study more effectively. It provides instant doubt solving, AI-generated notes and summaries, personalized quizzes, smart study planning, progress tracking, and learning recommendations through a modern and responsive interface.

How we built it

We built EduGenie using a modern full-stack web architecture:

Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Node.js, Express.js
Database: MongoDB
AI Integration: OpenAI API / Google Gemini API
Authentication: JWT Authentication
Deployment: Vercel (Frontend) and Render (Backend)

Challenges we ran into

What we learned

This project strengthened our understanding of full-stack development, AI integration, API communication, authentication, responsive UI design, and collaborative software development. We also learned how AI can be used to solve real educational challenges.
