Most rely on generic advice or spend hours searching across different websites for information about courses, skills, scholarships, and job opportunities. We wanted to solve this problem by creating EduGenAI, an AI-powered career mentor that provides personalized career guidance, learning roadmaps, and skill recommendations in one place. Our goal is to make quality career counseling accessible, affordable, and available to every student anytime, anywhere.

How we built it
How We Built It
We built EduGenAI using n8n as the automation platform to connect different AI services and APIs into a single workflow. Student information is collected through a simple form or chatbot and sent to an AI model, which analyzes the student's interests, skills, academic background, and career goals. The AI then generates personalized career recommendations, learning roadmaps, and guidance. We integrated external APIs for career information and learning resources, while a database stores user details and interaction history. Finally, we designed a simple, user-friendly interface so students can easily interact with their AI career mentor.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges We Ran Into
During the development of EduGenAI, we faced several challenges. One of the biggest was generating accurate and personalized career recommendations for students with different interests and goals. Integrating multiple APIs and AI services into a smooth n8n workflow required careful testing and debugging. We also worked to improve response speed while maintaining the quality of AI-generated guidance. Another challenge was designing a simple, user-friendly interface that students could use easily without technical knowledge. Overcoming these challenges helped us build a more reliable and effective AI career mentoring platform.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments That We're Proud Of
We are proud to have built EduGenAI, an AI-powered career mentor that provides personalized career guidance in a simple and accessible way. We successfully integrated AI with n8n automation to deliver real-time career recommendations and learning roadmaps. Despite the limited time of the hackathon, we developed a working prototype with a user-friendly interface. Most importantly, we created a solution that has the potential to help students make informed academic and career decisions, making quality career guidance available to everyone.
What we learned
What We Learned
Building EduGenAI taught us valuable technical and teamwork skills. We learned how to use n8n to automate workflows, integrate AI models and external APIs, and design effective prompts for personalized career guidance. We also improved our understanding of user-centered design by creating an interface that is simple and intuitive for students. Beyond the technical aspects, we strengthened our collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills while developing the project during the hackathon.
What's next for Edugenai
What's Next for EduGenAI
Our vision is to make EduGenAI a complete AI-powered career guidance platform for students. In future versions, we plan to add AI-powered resume analysis, mock interview practice, skill gap analysis, personalized learning plans, and real-time internship and job recommendations. We also aim to integrate college and scholarship recommendations, support multiple regional languages, and launch a mobile application so students can access career guidance anytime, anywhere. Our long-term goal is to help every student make confident and informed career decisions with the support of AI.
