Inspiration
Our project was inspired by modern, intuitive page builders like Gosfu, as well as existing educational platforms. We aimed to translate that ease of use into the academic course selection process
What it does
The app recommends you courses, helps you pick courses based on different metrics, and you can interact socially with other people regarding courses.
How we built it
We used react for the frontend and express for the backend. With supabase as the db. Using course api and deepseek api. We used git to share code. For design we used paper or really quick mockups in figma.
Challenges we ran into
We were very broad in our goals which led to scope creep near the end. Due to the creep some feature we really wanted to make weren't possible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of our clean and interactive UI. In addition, our course builder and other ui elements all work quite intuitively with our 2 apis we used.
What we learned
We learned the best practices for working together in a group, such as collaboration and sometimes turning down an idea to save manpower for essential pieces of the project we really needed.
What's next for EduFind
To add more interactivity on the socials page, such as letting users like each other's posts. Another key feature we want to implement are the pricing features such as paywalls, ads, and blurring certain key content.
