Inspiration
I am an international student and came across validating my certificates from my home country. It involved money, time and multiple third-party authorities to achieve the objective.
What it does
I discussed this with my friends, and we realized the need for a trusted decentralized body to verify the certificates without any more money or time.
How we built it
We used React to create the front end and Ganache to run a blockchain in our local environments. Solidity is used to create Smart Contracts, and the web3 package connects to the blockchain.
Challenges we ran into
With almost zero knowledge of blockchain, everything seemed to be a challenge. As the saying goes, "Every challenge presents an opportunity". Dinner, chips, and a lot of coffee later, we started our way towards blockchain.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We had our first blockchain app up and running—a long-awaited introduction to one of the niche technologies. Which is just the beginning, and there's a long way to go. Also, a great team to work with. We were mutually supportive and caring. Strive to grow together.
What we learned
With reasonable efforts and time management, we could make things happen. And the technologies come after.
What's next for EduDoc Chain
We built a prototype. We have to plan and decide how to take it to the next level—making it a viable product, by considering all the cases and the stakeholders involved.
