Inspiration

Teachers spend countless hours creating quizzes, exams, and assignments. Existing tools are often slow, repetitive, and lack intelligent assistance. We wanted to build an AI-powered platform that allows teachers to create high-quality assessments in seconds while keeping full control over the final result.

What it does

EduContest is an AI-powered assessment platform for educators.

With OpenAI, teachers can:

Generate curriculum-aligned quiz and exam questions.
Create multiple-choice, true/false, and open-ended questions.
Produce explanations and answer keys automatically.
Save and organize question banks.
Review and edit AI-generated content before publishing.

The platform dramatically reduces preparation time while maintaining quality.

How we built it

Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Supabase
Authentication & Database: Supabase Auth + PostgreSQL
AI: OpenAI API (GPT models)
Deployment: Vercel

What we learned

This project showed us that AI works best as a collaborative assistant rather than a replacement. Prompt engineering, user feedback, and thoughtful UX are just as important as the underlying model.
