Inspiration

EduConnect was inspired by the need to bridge educational gaps among students, especially in underserved communities. We saw how peer collaboration can greatly enhance learning and wanted to create a platform enabling students to support each other efficiently.

What it does

EduConnect is a web-based platform where students can: Sign up and log in Submit academic questions by class Answer peers’ questions and like helpful responses Earn points and compete on a leaderboard Teachers can moderate content through a dedicated dashboard

How we built it

Frontend: HTML5 and CSS3 with a pastel-themed, responsive UI Logic: Vanilla JavaScript for user authentication, Q&A, likes, and points Data Persistence: LocalStorage for offline and lightweight usage Roles: Differentiation between teachers and students

Challenges we ran into

Managing real-time UI updates with only client-side storage Balancing simplicity for beginners and engagement for advanced users Securing role-based features without a backend Accomplishments we’re proud of Full client-side app functioning offline with persistence Gamified point system and leaderboard to motivate contributions Clean, accessible design with intuitive multi-role support Empowering peer learning as a scalable alternative to tutoring
