Inspiration
The educational tutoring app was inspired from my own learning. It would be nice to have it be interactive, get sample questions from a topic I needed, and get related detailed websites suggested where I can learn more.
What it does
It summarizes a topic of interest, answer a question for you, provide sample questions/answers with explanations that can help you learn, include a tutor via chat to interact with the questions you have, provide website references and websites that have learning material about the topic, and, of course, provide an image.
How we built it
Built with PartyRock, an AWS Bedrock playground. A no-code approach using widgets that builds an app with Generative AI and prompt engineering.
Challenges we ran into
Having the prompt engineering entered use an if/else scenario and getting the right type of output. Images based on what actually wanted took some time to perfect. After the demo video was made, I revised the Badge to stay within the shape.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting a better understanding of PartyRock and what AWS Bedrock can do.
What we learned
Although PartyRock says a link is treated like text, it was able to read a webpage and then give a summary of the url entered. I did not use this in the app, but I experimented with that too. Checking out the different types of AI models.
What's next for Educational Tutoring
What's next is to let this be developed into something more that can help users and myself get targeted learning material and have a tutor along the way.
