Inspiration

Ever struggled with Math? Biology? Any subject? Join the club. That's where Educate NU steps in – a tool born from the personal struggles of hitting the math wall. It's not just about getting the right answer but understanding the journey there.

What it does

EducateNU is an all-encompassing educational hub that assists students across various disciplines. From Math to Sciences and the Humanities, it offers a submission portal, instant and nuanced feedback, and a curated list of resources tailored to each student's specific needs.

How we built it

Built on the shoulders of FastAPI for the backend and a robust React frontend using TailwindCSS, Educate NU leverages the synergy between asynchronous server calls and a responsive UI. For the assessment magic, we've integrated a grading algorithm that doesn't just score but also provides constructive feedback using OpenAI API.

Challenges we ran into

One of the toughest challenges was ensuring real-time feedback was both accurate and helpful. Syncing front-end user actions with the backend data processing presented its own set of puzzles, as did creating a seamless flow of data between student and teacher views on the platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're beaming over our grading algorithm's ability to dissect a student's submission and produce feedback that's both personalized and practical. And not to brag, but the intuitive interface that encourages even the most math-averse users to give it another try is the cherry on top.

What we learned

The journey has been an intensive crash course in user experience, efficient data handling, and the nuances of educational software design. Building a responsive, user-friendly interface that serves both educators and learners was a profound learning curve.

What's next for Educate NU

We're aiming to evolve EducateNU into an AI-driven personalized learning environment, integrating predictive analytics to suggest future learning paths. Our goal is to make EducateNU a global go-to platform that caters to learners of all types and across all subjects.
