Inspiration

Since the last two years, education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Thus, finding study materials, teachers & study-partners to discuss problems with has become a cumbersome task. We solved this problem by creating a platform which has it all under a single roof. Connect with teachers & other students, host online classes, get/post notes, find study-partners, etc, all with some clicks. 

What it does

Educately connects students with teachers and other students. On our platform, students can find tutors near them with a single click, download/post notes on a particular topic in any subject, connect with teachers to solve doubts instantly, find study-partners in their city to collaborate on a project, etc. Teachers can also hold online classes on the platform, it has everything under a single roof. This works like a local search engine to search for nearby tutors as well as a social network where you can meet other students in your city and reach out to them asking for collaboration or similar things.

How we built it

For the front-end, I used Flutter and for the back-end I used Firebase(FirebaseAuth+Firestore+Cloud Functions)

Managing different user roles, multiple build failures, etc.

Creating a software which will help students and teachers across the world connect, affecting the world in a positive way.

What's next for Educately

Addition of messaging feature and video calling feature so that teachers can conduct classes on the go.
