Inspiration

Growing up in challenging circumstances, my friend Adharsh and I faced significant difficulties accessing educational resources. Witnessing the scope of this hackathon, we found profound inspiration to develop a product that promotes equitable educational access for people worldwide.

What it does

Educate! is a comprehensive platform with a wide range of features, focusing particularly on data analysis and machine learning in its Research page. Leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms, the Research page collects and presents data from various sources, providing users with valuable insights into global educational disparities.

How we built it

To create Educate!, we utilized several powerful tools, including Typescript, the React framework, and Tailwind CSS. Our codebase consisted of over 10,000 lines, and these frameworks were instrumental in ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.

Challenges we ran into

At the outset, we encountered challenges while working with Typescript, particularly with installing dependencies and handling file management. A GitHub commit issue further added to our concerns when it indicated 1000 files changed, even though we had made minimal adjustments. However, we tackled these obstacles as a team by creating new files and eventually finding effective solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Participating in the hackathon as a team was a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience. Overcoming the significant challenge of completing a substantial application within the given timeframe filled us with pride. We eagerly anticipate collaborating as partners in numerous future hackathons.

What we learned

Working in a team setting taught us the importance of maintaining organized and structured code. Despite the initial challenges, the experience proved immensely gratifying. We are excited about the prospect of continuing to learn and grow together as partners.

What's next for Educate!

Educate! has evolved into a fully deployable application, making it a valuable asset in the pursuit of the UN's fourth goal: providing universal access to education. Moving forward, our ambition is to further enhance this project alongside my partner, making a more significant impact in the realm of education worldwide.
