EduBridge โ€“ Bridging Students, Mentors, and Opportunities

๐Ÿง  Inspiration

The idea for EduBridge came from observing how students struggle to find authentic scholarships and real guidance.
Most students lack mentorship or verified platforms to guide them toward UGRAD, exchange, and fully/partially funded programs.
We wanted to create a university-driven digital bridge where:

  • Mentors can share their own success stories and helpful material.
  • Students can learn through mini-courses and get mentorship guidance.
  • Everything stays verified and secure through admin approval.

How We Built It

  • Frontend: ReactJS.
  • Backend: NodeJS.
  • Hosting: Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud deployment.
  • Database: MongoDb (managed in the cloud).
  • User Roles: Student, Mentor, Admin, and Super Admin.
  • Super Admin Access: New admins can only be added via OTP verification for extra security.
  • APIs: Dummy and real-time scholarship APIs integrated for UGRAD, exchange, and other scholarships.
  • Learning Section: Students can enroll in short learning courses for guidance and preparation.
  • Mentor Panel: Mentors can upload their own scholarship journeys, tips, and materials for students.

๐Ÿ’ก What We Learned

  • ReactJS for dynamic UIs.
  • Role-based access management and authentication.
  • Cloud deployment using PaaS concepts.
  • OTP verification and secure backend communication.
  • Team collaboration and testing under real constraints.

๐Ÿšง Challenges We Faced

  • Handling secure role-based logins for mentors, students, and admins.
  • Implementing OTP-based Super Admin system.
  • Managing real-time API integration for scholarships.
  • Balancing design simplicity with technical complexity.
  • Making the project feasible for a semester-level implementation without over-complication.

๐Ÿ† Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

  • Building a functional multi-role platform from scratch.
  • Successfully integrating scholarship and learning modules.
  • Maintaining clean UI, secure authentication, and scalable backend.
  • Offering a system that genuinely helps students and mentors connect.

๐Ÿ”š Conclusion

EduBridge is not just a project, itโ€™s a vision to make global scholarship access simpler, faster, and more reliable.
By connecting students, mentors, and verified opportunities in one platform, EduBridge builds a trust-based ecosystem where every learner gets proper guidance and motivation to apply confidently.

We believe EduBridge will empower thousands of students to achieve their dreams and turn mentorship into measurable success.
Our goal is to continue improving it through innovation, feedback, and technology โ€” bridging education, dreams, and opportunity.
