Inspiration

I got the idea for EduAI from a common problem many students face when they want to learn something new. They often don't know where to start, which topics to learn first, or how to follow a proper learning path.

I wanted to create a platform that could guide students instead of making them figure everything out on their own. This inspired me to build EduAI, where students can explore courses, follow structured roadmaps, get help from an AI assistant, and track their daily learning progress.

My goal was to make learning easier to start, easier to understand, and more organized for everyone.

What it does

EduAI is an AI-powered learning platform that helps students learn new skills with a clear roadmap and personalized support.

Its main features include:

  • Course Roadmaps: Students can follow structured learning paths to understand where to start and what to learn next.
  • AI Learning Assistant: Students can ask questions about a topic and get explanations using Google Gemini.
  • AI-Generated Notes: The platform helps students generate notes for easier learning and revision.
  • Quiz Practice: Students can test their knowledge through three quiz modes, including unlimited-time practice and a timed mode with 30 seconds to answer.
  • Daily Progress Tracking: Students can track how much time they spend studying different subjects or courses.
  • Course Completion Certificates: Students can receive a certificate after completing a course.

EduAI brings these learning tools together in one place to help students study in a more structured and organized way.

How we built it

I built EduAI as a solo project using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, MongoDB for data storage, and Google Gemini for AI-powered features.

I worked on bringing different learning tools together in one platform, including course roadmaps, an AI learning assistant, AI-generated notes, quizzes, daily study tracking, and course completion certificates.

My focus was to make the platform useful for students who need guidance when starting a new course and want to track their progress as they learn.

Building EduAI independently gave me the opportunity to work on different parts of the project and explore how AI can support the learning process.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was bringing multiple learning features together into a single platform while keeping the experience easy to understand.

Each feature serves a different purpose. Course roadmaps guide students, the AI assistant helps them understand topics, quizzes let them practice, and the progress tracker helps them monitor their study time.

Another challenge was organizing the learning experience so that students could move from starting a course to practicing what they learned and tracking their progress.

Since I worked on EduAI as a solo developer, managing these different features and making them work together was an important part of the development process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud to have developed EduAI as a solo project and brought several useful learning features together in one platform.

I'm especially proud of the structured course roadmaps, AI-powered learning assistance, automatic note generation, quiz practice modes, and daily study tracking.

I wanted to build more than just a place to access courses. I wanted to create a platform that helps students understand where to begin, get help when they have questions, practice their knowledge, and keep track of their learning progress.

Turning this idea into a learning platform was a valuable accomplishment for me.

What we learned

While building EduAI, I learned how AI can be used to support students during their learning journey. I explored how Google Gemini can help answer questions and provide additional information about different topics.

I also learned the importance of structured learning paths. A clear roadmap can make it easier for students to decide where to start and what to study next.

Working on features such as quizzes, AI-generated notes, and daily progress tracking helped me understand how different tools can work together to support learning.

As a solo developer, I also gained experience in bringing multiple features together and turning an idea into a working project. This experience helped me better understand the potential of AI in education.

What's next for EduAI-personlized-learning-system-using-AI

I want to continue improving EduAI and make the learning experience more personalized for each student.

Some features I would like to explore in the future include:

  • Personalized Learning Paths: Suggesting roadmaps based on students' goals, current knowledge, and progress.
  • Smarter Course Recommendations: Helping students discover courses that match their interests and career goals.
  • Learning Progress Insights: Providing better insights into study habits and areas that may need more practice.
  • Improved AI Assistance: Making it easier for students to understand difficult topics through more detailed explanations and guided learning.

My long-term goal is to make EduAI a platform where students can start learning a new skill with confidence, follow a clear path, and make consistent progress toward their goals.
