Inspiration
We were inspired to create a web app that has the feature of common AI studying tools in the market today, such as Quizlet and QuillBot.
What it does
EduAi is an all-in-one AI studying toolkit, with features like summarizing long texts and generating flashcards. Designed to cater to the user's convenience, users can add and delete subjects on the sidebar for ease of organization. Additionally, users can change the background color if they'd like.
How we built it
The majority of tools were created with a next.js frontend and powered by Gemini API in the backend. The audio to text translator is built using Python with the OpenAI Whisper API. We used next.js and Gemini API.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered two small syntax errors which greatly reduced our building time. We were also at the mercy of APIs and cooperating with it means a lot of patience and some financial investments with potentially no returns.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud to have learned how to work with the Gemini API and Next.js to build this web app.
What we learned
We were collectively trialed by the stubborn APIs and countless hours of debugging. Through this, our experience of applying machine learning APIs were fortified and our vigorous debugging improved our code senses overall.
What's next for EduAI
EduAI can be improved by incorporating a more accurate AI summarizer that can create better flashcards. Future features that incorporate more opportunities for application can improve the thoroughness of our webapp in delivering accessible improvements to a student's life through AI.
