Inspiration
Many students study hard, yet miss what’s truly needed in today’s fast-changing world. EDU-Tech was born from this gap — inspired by the idea of a dynamic syllabus that evolves with industry needs. The educational game was sparked by the Tamil movie Raatchasi, which beautifully highlights how engaging learning can transform lives. The quiz tests what really matters — understanding, not just memory. And for every student, resources are gold — that's why we made access to them easier and smarter.
What it does
EDU-Tech is a desktop-based EdTech prototype with 4 powerful modules: Syllabus Analyser 📄 – Extracts key terms from uploaded syllabi. Resource Collector 📚 – Displays essential predefined learning resources. Quiz Module 🧠 – A fun, timed quiz to test your knowledge with real feedback. Gamified State Locator 🎮🗺️ – A coordinate geometry-based drag-and-drop game matching Indian states.
How we built it
We developed this platform using Java Swings and applied Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles throughout. Each module was built independently and then integrated to form one seamless prototype. The design focused on student experience, simplicity, and learning potential.
Challenges we ran into
Parsing syllabus data accurately and identifying keywords was tough. Designing drag-and-drop logic with coordinate geometry took time and testing. Creating a smooth quiz flow with timers and validation needed careful planning. Resource linking felt limiting without real-time APIs (a goal for the future!).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully working prototype as a student with zero prior exposure to real-world EdTech systems. Revised and applied all our first-year Java OOPs concepts meaningfully. Created a fun, visual way to learn geography and test knowledge. Showcased that innovation can start even with small steps and limited resources.
What we learned
Java Swing + OOP can create real-world usable applications. Building a project from scratch teaches way more than just writing code. Inspiration can come from movies, problems, and people around us. ChatGPT played a big role in clarifying doubts and keeping us on track.
What's next for EDU-Tech The Innovative Education PlatfoWe’re excited to enhance the platform with:
AI-powered syllabus generation using APIs for industry-ready content. YouTube and book APIs to provide tailored learning resources. Advanced quiz features like auto-evaluation, adaptive levels, and progress tracking. Game-based learning expansion — more maps, more fun, more learning! This is just the beginning — we’re excited to keep exploring, building, and innovating. 🔥rm
