EdTECH Buddy

Inspiration

EdTech buddy is made for enthusiast students who want to explore different courses according to their interests and want to dive deep into the exploration journey. In India, the first and sudden expert in career guidance or course mentorship is often a relative who may or may not be able to fulfill the thirst for exploring the different courses and degrees one can pursue after the 12th class. This bot is made to remove that thirst for course and degree exploration.

What it does

Website provides an interface to use the bot which takes the input as a sentence from the user and after analyzing it suggests the courses, degrees, and even colleges which user should choose ...

How we built it

EdTech Buddy website is influenced by themes from free CSS, and using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Bootstrap, the final touch is given. The main hero, the bot, is made using BotPress.com.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was to include all the courses and degrees that are available in India. So, we used the CBSE's compendium of courses, which includes most of the courses.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our bot, and we can now easily make many different bots using BotPress. As beginners, we believe this is a great project.

What we learned

We learned how to use BotPress.com and edit CSS and JavaScript files. We also learned the importance of aspect ratios.

What's next for EdTECH Buddy

Next, we are planning to make a database of specializations and upcoming degrees which we could add to the knowledge base of the bot. We are also working to learn some other platforms where we can use generative AI to suggest appropriate things to the user, like integrating Gemini, etc.
