EDPOP: THE FUTURE IS IN-PERSON

If there's one thing we learned about COVID... It’s that virtual learning does not work.

Students found themselves unable to focus, struggling to build meaningful connections, and had trouble learning at the same rate as before.

Engagement dropped, and ultimately, so did test scores. Ever since the pandemic, standardized testing scores such as the ACT have been at an all-time low.

Parents know about this issue... When given the option between an online class and an in-person teacher, parents are willing to pay significantly more for the in-person experience even if it meant having to drive children back and forth.

So I started my own in-person class...

A handful of students, gathered in my living room everyday just to learn about computer science. That summer, I made $40,000.

Both students and parents loved it and were willing to pay a significant premium for the in-person attention.

The experience of interacting, making friends, and engaging in classwork in a physical environment was incomparable to what it would have been like virtually.

Of the dozen initial sign ups, only one was for the virtual option.

I attempted to scale it virtually...

But it failed. Miserably. Attention dropped, engagement decreased, and ultimately, students lost interest. Competition was fierce and I ended up losing thousands.

Online resources may be helpful, but in-person learning beats virtual each and every time.

We're here to disrupt education, and bring "virtual reality" back to reality

But there's a problem with scaling in-person learning

In-Person Learning is Expensive and Inaccessible...

It's dominated by big brands that can afford the risk and charge a LOT of money.

C2 Education, Mathnasium, Code Ninjas, etc.

They are willing to spend thousands investing in a physical location, paying for renovations, maintenance, and utilities.

And for the consumer, this means insane prices just to be taught by a hire being paid near minimum-wage.

To many, in-person learning is simply unaffordable.

But there is a solution, and it's with EdPop

What if you could skip the high price tag of the brand name, the high overhead costs, and directly know the background of the instructors? What if you could cut out the middlemen corporations and the costs?

Direct-To-Consumer Classes, Run From Your Own Home...

Just do what I did to make $40,000 in one summer with NO overhead costs: teach a class from a home or public location.

EdPop is the Airbnb for classes, where parents can find the in-person classes they want based on their location, aggregated in a complete marketplace of options.

Instead of a $40+ per hour price tag at traditional locations, EdPop's prices cut it in half, with income going directly to the instructor.

We skip the overhead costs, large corporate profits, and private equity risk.

Instead, we're doing what Airbnb did to hotels and what Uber did to taxis: we brought it direct to consumer.

Join our mission to make in-person learning accessible to all.

Because remember: the future is in-person.
