Inspiration
As a content creator myself, I’ve often struggled to find reliable editing tools, high-quality tutorials, and expert guidance—all in one place. The internet is full of resources, but they’re scattered, unorganized, and overwhelming for beginners. That’s where the idea for Editora came from: a platform that simplifies the editing journey by bringing everything creators need into a single, smartly curated space.
What it does
Editora is an all-in-one web platform built for editors, designers, and digital creators. It helps users:
Discover the best editing software tools (100+ curated tools across video, photo, and mobile)
Learn faster through a Tutorial Library with 500+ categorized and filterable tutorials
Explore and follow top YouTube creator channels with detailed profiles
Get personalized software suggestions through Interactive Guides
Search across the entire platform with a Smart Search that works like magic
Whether you're a beginner choosing your first tool or a pro looking to level up your workflow, Editora is built to support your creative journey.
How we built it
Editora was built using modern web technologies and tools to ensure a smooth, scalable, and responsive experience:
React + TypeScript: For a robust, component-based frontend
Tailwind CSS: To ensure a clean and mobile-first design system
Supabase: Used for backend-as-a-service—real-time database, auth, and storage
Netlify: For continuous deployment and blazing fast hosting
PWA Support: So users can install Editora like a mobile app
I also implemented a custom global search algorithm to index software, tutorials, and creators together—improving discoverability and user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Designing an intuitive filtering system for tutorials that works across difficulty, category, and software.
Creating a smooth user experience for mobile (especially for Interactive Guides).
Curating quality resources while maintaining consistency in metadata like tags, ratings, and categories.
What we learned
How to use Supabase to manage real-time data effectively and securely.
The importance of UX testing and iteration when building multi-section platforms.
How small touches like smart search and mobile-first design drastically improve usability.
How to present and pitch a technical product to both technical and non-technical audiences.
