Inspiration

My father came up with the idea after seeing my mother and her fellow colleagues struggle to get enough supplies to conduct science labs for the students. I took the idea and fleshed it out into a simple, responsive web application for both teachers and the parents/community members.

What it does

Allows parents and community members to see a list of supplies that teachers need to help their class room operate for labs to be carried out. Users can respond to these lists of requests, thus notifiying the teacher of the response to one of their requests.

How I built it

I designed the backend structure, implemented it, then designed the layout for the front end creating any necessary graphics.. Once the front end design was completed I implemented that half of the project. Now the workflow just consists of updates on any big fixes, addition of features, as well as any optimizations.

Challenges I ran into

Optimizing the site to run efficiently on all devices has been the biggest battle thus far in this project. From minimizing asset resolutions to when js files are downloaded to the client in the DOM. Still working on optimizing the sites efficiency.
