EcoWise: Track and Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
About the Project
EcoWise is a web-based application I developed to help individuals track, reduce, and offset their carbon footprints. The increasing urgency of climate change and the need for individual responsibility inspired me to create this project. Many people want to live more sustainably but lack the tools or guidance. My goal was to build a simple yet impactful tool that offers personalized insights and encourages actionable change.
The app aims to empower users by giving them data-driven feedback on their daily activities and offering ways to reduce their carbon emissions. EcoWise also fosters community by allowing users to participate in challenges that promote environmental action.
What Inspired Me
Witnessing the growing threat of climate change and increasing emissions motivated me to create EcoWise. Many people want to contribute to the solution but don’t know where to start. My goal was to give individuals the power to understand their carbon footprint and take small but meaningful actions toward a sustainable lifestyle.
Through awareness and engagement, I hope to show that every small step counts.
What I Learned
I learned about the intricacies of carbon footprint calculations and the challenges of building an engaging, impactful application. It became clear how small changes in behavior can lead to significant results. On the technical side, I gained a deeper understanding of user interface design, integrating complex data, and keeping the app user-friendly.

Challenges I Faced
