About the Project – EcoWatt AI
Inspiration
Look around you — every building, every office, every home is silently wasting up to 30% of the electricity it consumes. Not because people don’t care, but because we can’t predict what we can’t see. That waste means higher bills, power shortages, and unnecessary carbon emissions fueling the climate crisis.
We asked a bold question: What if energy waste could be predicted before it happened?
That single question inspired EcoWatt AI.
What We Built
EcoWatt AI is a next-generation AI platform that gives buildings the ability to think ahead.
Forecasting: Advanced time-series AI models (Prophet, ARIMA) predict short-term energy demand with precision.
Anomaly Detection: The system instantly flags inefficiencies the moment they occur.
Interactive Dashboard: A simple, intuitive interface that shows forecasts vs actual usage, peak hours, anomaly alerts, and savings insights — all in real-time.
EcoWatt AI is more than analytics. It’s like giving every building its own energy brain.
Challenges & Learnings
Creating EcoWatt AI under hackathon pressure was intense. We wrestled with messy data, tuned models for speed and accuracy, and built a live dashboard to connect backend AI with real-time insights.
But here’s what we discovered: AI isn’t valuable on its own — it’s valuable when it empowers people to act smarter. EcoWatt AI turns raw predictions into clear, actionable insights that anyone — from building managers to policymakers — can use.
Why It Matters
Energy waste isn’t just a technical issue — it’s a global problem. If every building used EcoWatt AI, we could save millions in costs, cut gigatons of emissions, and bring cities one step closer to a sustainable future.
This is not just another hackathon project. This is about reshaping the way the world consumes energy.
