Inspiration
The world generates over 2 billion tons of waste every year, and much of it ends up in landfills or oceans due to poor sorting and a lack of awareness. Climate change is accelerating, and individuals often feel powerless to make a real difference. We wanted to create a smart, engaging, and accessible AI-powered platform that turns everyday eco-conscious actions into a fun, guided, and data-driven journey. EcoVision was born to bridge the gap between awareness and action.
What it does
EcoVision is an all-in-one AI Sustainability Companion that empowers users to live greener lives through four core features:
Waste Detection – Upload or take a photo, and our AI (powered by Cohere AI) instantly classifies waste into categories like plastic, glass, paper, or organic, with proper disposal recommendations.
Carbon Footprint Analysis – Tracks daily activities and estimates your carbon emissions to help you make more sustainable choices.
*Eco Coach * – An AI-powered assistant (powered by Groq LLM) that provides personalized tips, eco-friendly product suggestions, and motivational advice.
*Progress Tracking * – Monitors your environmental impact over time, turning sustainability into an engaging challenge.
How we built it
Frontend: HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS for sleek and responsive UI.
Backend/AI:
Cohere AI for waste image classification.
Groq LLM for personalized eco-coaching conversations.
Deployment: Vercel for fast, global hosting.
Design Tools: AOS animations for smooth user interactions.
