Inspiration

I created EcoTrack because many people want to make environmentally responsible choices but may not know how to properly handle different types of waste. I wanted to turn this everyday problem into a simple and accessible digital experience that makes learning about waste management easier.

What it does

EcoTrack is an interactive web application that helps people make better everyday decisions about waste. It provides simple guidance for different types of waste, explains responsible disposal and recycling practices, and shares practical eco-friendly tips that users can apply in their daily lives.

How I build it

I built EcoTrack as a lightweight web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I focused on creating a simple and user-friendly interface where users can explore different waste categories, learn proper disposal and recycling practices, and discover practical ways to reduce waste in their daily lives.

Challenges

As a beginner developer, one of my biggest challenges was turning an idea into a functional web application. I had to learn how to structure the website, create an intuitive interface, and make the interactive features work correctly. Keeping the experience simple and understandable while building the project was also an important challenge.

What I learned

Through this project, I improved my understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and learned how to combine them to create a functional web application. I also gained experience with user interaction, testing, GitHub, and deploying a website using GitHub Pages. Most importantly, EcoTrack helped me understand how technology can be used to communicate solutions to real-world environmental problems.
