๐Ÿ’ก Inspiration Living in India, I witness severe pollution and extreme heatwaves daily. It made me realize that while many people want to help the planet, they struggle with three main roadblocks: a lack of awareness about localized climate issues, not knowing how to take simple daily actions, and having no community platform to share their efforts. I built EcoTrace to bridge this gap and turn daily climate anxiety into tangible, global action.

๐ŸŒ What it does EcoTrace is a climate action web platform that empowers individuals to make a difference. Users can search for any country to instantly discover its specific environmental challenges. The platform then provides guided, bite-sized tasksโ€”like reducing plastic or planting a tree. To gamify the experience, users upload photo/video proof, track their progress on a daily/weekly/monthly dashboard, receive a personalized appreciation email, and generate shareable "impact cards" for social media. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How I built it (Note: Fill in the technologies you used here! For example: "I built the frontend using React/HTML/CSS, styled it with Tailwind CSS, and managed the deployment using Netlify ")

๐Ÿ›‘ Challenges I ran intoAs a solo developer participating in my very first hackathon, time management was a massive challenge. I had to balance designing a clean, modern UI while simultaneously implementing complex features like data tracking and dashboard state management. Overcoming the learning curve of building a complete product end-to-end under a tight deadline was difficult but incredibly rewarding.

๐ŸŽ‰ Accomplishments that I'm proud ofI am incredibly proud of taking a raw idea inspired by my daily life and turning it into a fully functioning, beautiful web application in just a few daysโ€”all by myself! Designing the "Know Your Planet" landing page and setting up a clear user workflow were major wins for me.

๐Ÿ“š What I learnedI learned how to scope a project effectively to fit a strict deadline. More importantly, I learned how to build a user-centric interface that makes a heavy topic like climate change feel approachable, actionable, and engaging.

๐Ÿ”ฎ What's next for EcoTraceI plan to integrate AI to automatically verify user-submitted photo/video proof. I also want to implement regional leaderboards to spark friendly competition between cities and countries to drive even higher community engagement.
