Inspiration

The extinction of animals, migration of various populations, rising of sea levels really connected with us which sparked an amazing idea that forms the basis for this website.

What it does

Manages your projects related to sustainability and saving the environment. It connects people who want to save the planet together by showing everyone's different projects and what part they are actively working on.

How we built it

Using MongoDB , Express, React.js and Node.js and a few other needed packages for example bcrypt to encrypt passwords, react router to route between pages in the url, etc.

Challenges we ran into

Deploying the website on render, creating a consistent and working backend, designing a good looking frontend, managing time and communicating efficiently.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Buillding a fully functional website from scratch.

What we learned

Managing time is crucial for these time constrained hackathons.

What's next for EcoTogether

A more in depth website, a forum or social media side that allows collaboration between multiple project managers, management of members in each project and maybe keeping track of what they have contributed, each member could have an account or profile that displays their participated projects and their contributions which could be beneficial for their career.
