ecotask

Inspiration

I got inspiration from this project from a mental health app my friend had downloaded on her phone. Completing different surveys and tasks gave her points - which is the idea I tried to use in my project.

What it does

Ecotask allows people to contribute to environmental sustainability by learning new things about sustainability as well as completing tasks that relate to it.

How we built it

Using python on VS Code, I was able to import pygame and use it to add in different buttons, text, and other visuals (which I used Canva to create).

Challenges we ran into

Being a complete beginner to pygame and mostly a beginner to python, I faced a number of challenges. Even the final result is still buggy and has some things that need to be fixed, for example, the "buy" button on the shop page. Similarly, implementing the grid on the forest space, and even just exploring how to use pygame was a challenge itself.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall, I'm proud of the efforts that were put into this project, specifically since I'd never used pygame before at all. I spent a lot of my time researching and watching videos on coding, and although the final result is buggy, I was able to learn so much and gain so much more understanding on python.
