Inspiration

I came to know that many people around me were unaware of the fact that their lifestyle is affecting earth to a such extent that is leading to drastic weather conditions such as climate change. So to make them aware and raise our voice against climate change, I developed this website so that we can share the ideas and help make earth a better place. Ecosource empowers individuals to build a future in which nature and people can thrive together.

What it does

It helps people find ideas to fight climate change so that they can reduce their effects on earth. it provides science-based solutions to nature's biggest challenges. It gives such ideas that can be made just by making some lifestyle changes making our earth a better place for nature and humans to thrive.

How I built it

In order to build my web application, I've used:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JS
  • Google Cloud: Firebase Firestore

Challenges I ran into

Since, it was my first hackathon, so it was a bit hard for me to make a responsive web application with backend implementation using Firebase Firestore all on my own.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am very proud to have developed a complete working web application. I am also proud to have learned to integrate new technologies such as firebase-firestore in my project.

What I learned

I've learned to implement firebase firestore and worked with accessing databases. Also I've learned how to make UI designs more accessible and appealing.

What's next for Ecosource

I am looking forward remove some of the bugs from our code and make it more accessible for everyone. Then, I plan to it as an open source project for people all over the world to build upon and learn from!
