Inspiration

The purpose of developing this application is to create an interesting yet informative app where the impact is not just on the user, but also positively affects their surrounding environment too. The app is quick, easy to use, and at the same time, it's extensive features provide wide functionality to the users. Just like how people share updates about their life on social media, they do it here too, but for a good environmental cause.

What it does

This app allows users to share snaps, posts, and articles and influence others on CO2 emissions. Information is shared in a way that users are entertained, creating an atmosphere where individuals try to reduce emissions and increase points more than their peers.

How we built it

PROFILE PAGE While clicking on the profile button on the top left corner of the home page, one can see their profile: • All the posts published by the user • Number of followers • Write a new article • Edit their personal information EXPLORE PAGE • The page aims at delivering tips and updates to the user about alternative measures taken to reduce carbon emissions, created and published by the other users on the platform which inspires other users. • Users can also check the articles that they saved which are written by others on the platform. GOALS PAGE • Users earn points for the contributions they have made based on the methods adopted to reduce carbon emissions. For example, if they post about them eating a green vegetable diet, or travelling by metro to work, they are awarded points based on their goal consistency, and on the level of impact, their actions generate, i.e., how much they are reducing their carbon footprint by choosing an alternate, environment-friendly method. • Users can redeem these points for vouchers from carbon-conscious brands. • Users can set personal goals that are feasible to their living standards, and keep track of how consistent they are, and how much they are reducing their emissions FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY PAGE • The users can view and explore other people's posts, like them, and save posts for future reference. This helps in building a community that is socially aware of the need of the hour and that in turn influences the rest of society towards a greener lifestyle. • Users can participate in fun challenges with other people and learn new ways to adopt these methods into their lifestyles. • Users can check their University community page and participate in debates, talks, and competitions held at campus level.

Challenges we ran into

We couldn't integrate it with the ML algorithms since its asking us to pay...but we are pretty sure if we have the amount this app could bring in revolution.
