Frustrated with consumer confusion regarding environmentally-friendly products, we decided to empower our fellow shoppers with the knowledge that we lacked. On the technical side, we learned how to deploy Xcode alongside online databases, while we gained imperative real-world knowledge about how to identify companies that act upon their commitment to the environment. We discovered the computational and integrative difficulties of web-crawling while gaining a better understanding of why web-crawling is so powerful without API's and databases that can provide us the information we want. We are excited to fully build out our vision to help every other shopper and keep companies accountable.
