Inspiration
As campuses grow more electrified, we saw an opportunity to turn everyday device charging—phones, laptops, even EVs—into a driver of real climate action. Inspired by the collective impact of small, conscious choices, we set out to make sustainable charging effortless and visible for every student and staff member
What it does
ecocharge.ai analyzes real-time device needs and live energy data across campus charging zones to recommend the greenest, most sustainable charging spots and best times to plug in. With easy tips and instant feedback, users lower their carbon impact every time they charge.
How we built it
We used Fetch AI’s uAgent framework to simulate device agents, zone agents with renewable/grid data, and an optimizer agent to make real-time recommendations. A simple dashboard displays the greenest sockets, carbon savings, and recommended charging times for all devices. Communication between agents is seamless, and our setup can scale to both laptops and EV chargers.
Challenges we ran into
1.Coordinating agent messaging 2.Designing logic that balances urgent user needs with eco priorities 3.Simulating dynamic energy mixes for different campus zones 4.Learning curve for fecth.ai
Accomplishments that we're proud of
1.End-to-end demo where devices, data, and recommendations sync 2.Instant carbon savings feedback that’s easy to understand and act on 3.A mordern AI Agentic framework with AI for good theme
What we learned
1.Multi-agent system coordination 2.Simulated data can still drive meaningful insights
What's next for Ecocharge.ai
1.Integrate live grid and solar data from real campus infrastructure 2.Add user accounts, carbon savings history, and gamified climate goals 3.Expand to city-scale smart charging and building energy management
