🌍 Inspiration

Climate change and stringent regulatory mandates (such as the EU's CSRD and SEC Climate Disclosure rules) require global enterprises to decarbonize rapidly. However, existing carbon management tools are fragmented, manual, and backward-looking. I created EcoPulse AI to bring predictive intelligence, real-time multimodal auditing, and actionable green technology execution to every organization.

✨ What it does

• Multimodal AI Carbon & ESG Auditor: Instantly parses operational energy, fuel, travel, and document metrics to compute Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions with standard GHG Protocol factors and customized AI recommendations.
• Interactive Climate Impact Simulator: Allows users to tweak renewable energy adoption, carbon tax rates, and efficiency goals to forecast 5-10 year emission reductions and financial savings.
• Green Supply Chain Radar: Maps vendor ESG scores, carbon intensity, and renewable power ratios to pinpoint supply chain climate risks.
• Gemini AI Copilot: A context-aware assistant powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash for instant regulatory, technical, and sustainability guidance.
• Executive Presentation Deck: An integrated slide deck viewer and pitch generator for corporate net-zero strategy reviews.

🛠️ How I built it

• Frontend: React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, Motion (for smooth animations), Recharts (for dynamic graphs), Lucide Icons.
• Backend: Custom Express server with Vite integration running on Node.js / Cloud Run.
• AI Integration: Google GenAI SDK (@google/genai) server-side with gemini-3.6-flash for structured JSON auditing, scenario modeling, and conversational guidance.

🚧 Challenges I ran into

• Designing a secure server-side proxy layer for Gemini 3.6 Flash to keep private API credentials hidden while maintaining sub-second JSON response parsing.
• Balancing mathematical GHG Protocol emission calculations with AI generative strategy recommendations in unified data models.
