Inspiration:

Eliminate Poverty - By combining human experiences with the power of technology, we aim to shift mindsets, inspire empathy, and spark action—one voice at a time.

What it does:

Voices on Poverty is a community-powered platform where users can post real-world poverty issues and crowdsource solutions through discussion. The app encourages active participation by awarding "Voice Points" for contributions, helping raise awareness and drive grassroots impact.

How we built it? Using idea to visualization:

We started by brainstorming the core idea—empowering communities to share poverty-related challenges and propose solutions—and translated it into a clear user flow with defined features. Using Bolt.new for rapid prototyping, we built the app with Next.js and Supabase, iteratively refining it and deploying to Vercel and Netlify for a seamless user experience.

Challenges we ran into:

We faced issues with authentication redirects, user scoring logic, and deployment errors due to compatibility between SSR and static exports. Debugging and fine-tuning these areas took time, but helped us better understand the tech stack and improve our app’s reliability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We’re proud to have built a fully functional community app from idea to deployment within a short time. It allows users to post real issues, interact meaningfully, and earn Voice Points—creating a unique, purpose-driven user experience.

What we learned:

We learned how to take a concept from ideation to deployment using tools like Bolt.new, Supabase, Next.js, Vercel, and Netlify. We also gained experience in team collaboration, debugging real-world issues, and refining user experience under time constraints.

What's next for Economic Voices:

We plan to enhance the platform by adding real-time notifications, moderation tools, and NGO integration to amplify real-world impact. Our goal is to evolve Economic Voices into a global hub where individuals, communities, and organizations can collaborate to address poverty through open dialogue and shared solutions.
