What it does
It's a Google for finding environmental organizations. Unlike search engines or other websites that prioritize larger organizations (more clicks), EcoNet strives to bring engagement to small, local environmental nonprofits and interest groups.
How we built it
We developed a react website and used a postGre SQL database as our backend.
Challenges we ran into
This whole hackathon weekend was actually our college move in weekend, so all of us had very little time to work.
Also, due to some issues with github pages, we were unable to publish our website in time. However, we will make sure to do so as soon as possible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning full stack development for the first time. Some of us knew back end while others knew front end, and we combined those skills to make something beautiful.
What we learned
We're capable of a lot more than we expected when it came to both deadlines and learning.
What's next for EcoNet
We can see EcoNet actually flushing out to fulfill its purpose.
