Inspiration
I wanted to build an e-commerce website for my friend's clothing brand -- Soust
What it does
Using MongoDB it stores product info in the cloud so the data can be easily changed and viewed by the owner on an admin page. The users of the shop can sort by price or filter by category. They can also add products and different sized products to their cart.
How I built it
I built it using react, Node.js, and Next.js. There were some helpful YouTube videos and a good amount of research along the way.
Challenges I ran into
Host on AWS was much harder and more expensive than I anticipated. I decided to take the website down after just a few weeks because my free trial was ending and my friend's clothing brand wasn't ready for the public yet.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am really proud about working with MongoDB, creating my own API endpoints, using google O-Authentication, and hosting the 2 websites on AWS EC2.
