Inspiration

1.) The first purpose of this hackathons was to use Rapyd’s Hosted Checkout Toolkit to rethink checkout in order to curtail or prevents Carts Abandonment owing to bad Checkout Experiences which has resulted in loss of over $260 billion dollars a year in various E-Commerce businesses.

2.) The second Purpose of this hackathon was to engage in Rapyd Fintech Community to help young developers, Students etc. to solve their problems/issues. My Rapyd Community Participation can be seen in my profile here My Rapyd Community Profile Link

Shopping Carts are abandoned for various reasons.

According to Statistics and Testimonies gathered from various Customers from various source, Cart abandonment can occur for various reasons stated below.

1.) Too long or Complicated Checkout & Payments Processes. Most Shopping Cart Checkout Process are complicated and too long. Customers gets tired of moving from one page to another to add item to carts, checkout and make payments. In the process they become confused and decide to abandon their carts. This is where Rapyd’s Hosted Checkout Toolkit steps in and increase your site sales conversion rate.

2.) Not Enough Payments Methods(NEPM): About 10% of Customers abandons your carts because there wasn't enough payments method. Again this is where Rapyd’s Hosted Checkout Toolkit steps in to prevent this issue and increase your site sales conversion rate.

3.) Lack of Security & Trust for Credit Card Information's: Statistics has showed that about 18.97% of Customers abandons their carts because they did not trust the site security and credibility of the payments system thus they find it difficult to provide their Credit Card Information's to make payments .Again this is where Rapyd’s Hosted Checkout Toolkit steps in to prevent this issue and increase your site sales conversion rate.

4.) Extra Cost/High Shipping Rates. Most site add hidden Charges, Taxes, or high shipping rate etc. This is one of the major reason Customers are abandoning their Carts. You will need to be transparent in all charges and provide your customer with a Real-Time Upfront Estimated Calculator Payments Summary that provides your customer with an upfront Payments Summary prior to Checkout.
we solve this issue in our Application by integrating an Upfront Products Payments Calculator Summary so that Customers will know the summary of their payments upfront before Checkout.

5.)Forcing Your Customer to Signup/Create an Account: This is one of the big reason, Customers abandons your Cart. A buyer is not in your site to create an account. He is there to just buy an item and make payments. Forcing them to compulsory create an account will make them to abandon your Cart.
We implemented Guest Checkout Options to solve this issue within our application.

6.)Excessive Filling of Form Fields(EFFF): Most Sites forces Customer to fill some many form fields. I have a friend who abandon his cart for asking him to fill about 21 form fields just to provide his information's and shipping details/address. We solved this issue in our applications by reducing the form fields to 5 by asking our customers to provide only 5 vital information's that we need for his/her Shipping (Eg. Name, Email, Full Shipping Address, Postal Code & Country)

No Customer will like to waste his/her time in your site. Statistics has showed that reduction in form field for Customers info and shipping details can curtail/reduce your Cart abandonment by as much as 34.9%.

7.)Application Not Mobile Responsive: Statistics has showed that about40% of Customers coming to your site uses mobile devices. If Site UI and Navigation are not well optimize especially for mobile devices, it can leads to Carts abandonment. We solve this issue in our application by creating a Single Page Checkout app and ensures that all our applications are mobile responsive.

It's time to improve your E-commerce Checkout and Payments Page Or Continue Losing Your Customers. To reduce Cart Abandonment, we have finally integrated the winning Features below in our E-Commerce Application.

1.) Single Page Checkout Integrations: Moving away from Multiple Page Checkout to Single Page Checkout is now the new trend in the Cart Checkout Evolution.

Like I stated above, Most Shopping Cart Checkout Process are complicated and too long. Customers gets tired of moving from one page to another to add item to carts, checkout and make payments. In the process they become confused and decide to abandon their carts. We integrated Single Page Checkout and Payments Processes to prevents your Customers from wasting of time, Page Reloads and tendency to leave your site during Checkout Process.

2.) Rapyd Simplified Hosted Checkout Toolkit Payment System Integration: As I started earlier, some of the Major reason why Customers abandon their carts is due to Complicated Checkout and Payment Processes, Lack of Enough Payments Methods, Lack of Customers Trust to provide their Credit Card Information's to make payments. We introduce the use of Rapyd’s Hosted Checkout Toolkit to provide customers with credibility, a secure , easy and faster way of making payments within the application. This in turn tends to reduce Cart Abandonment and increase sales Conversion Rate.

Note:You can Edit and Add More Rapyd Payments Card from the Application Codes at rapyd_settings.php files

3.) Abandon Cart Notification Triggers Integration: We integrated some Abandon cart Notification Triggers on this application. If your Customer is about to leave his Cart without Checkout, A message reminder is pop up for that Customer informing her that there is an item in his or her cart that needs to be checkout. This millisecond alerts help to prevent cart abandonment.

Note:You can can always customize the kind of text message to popup for your customer in the event Abandon Cart Triggering. You can always turn the message popup on or off from the Application Codes at rapyd_settings.php files. The Abandon Cart Alert Triggers is on (ie set to 1) by default. you can turn it off by setting it to 0 all from application code at rapyd_settings.php files.

4.) Carts Real-time Updates Notification Bars Counts Integration: We integrated this Carts Notification Bars as a way of reminding your Customers that they have added some item in their Carts. Whenever an item is added to the carts, Notification Bars get updated by 1 and so on.

5.)Discount System Integration: Adding Discount is one of the business strategy to urge your customers to purchase an item and checkout. That is amount you will like to give to customers as discount upon Checkout of each shopping Cart via Checkout Timer below. If Customer checkout within the Timing Period you set above Eg.( 15 minutes etc), Discount will be Applied. If timer expires before checkout, discount will not be applied. Again Eg. if Customers is checking out 3 carts of items at a time, The Total discount will be calculated as discount amount multiply by no of Cart been checkout.

Note: You can set this discount from application code at rapyd_settings.php files.

6.) Cart Checkout Discount Countdown Timer Integrations: We integrated Countdown Timer to increase your Products Sales and Payments urgency with limited-time offers.

This countdown timer will make your Customers see a running clock timing urging them to buy your item immediately and Checkout. If Your Customers purchase an item and checkout within the timer, Discount amount set by you will be apply per each Cart he created and checkout.

Note: You can set this Timer to any minutes of your choice from application code at rapyd_settings.php files.

7.) Transparent Items Upfront Payments Calculator Summary Integration: As I stated earlier Most of your Customers abandons their Carts on the ground of some sort of additional cost such as Shipping fees, Taxes etc. We integrated this Upfront Items Payments Calculator Summary to provides your customer with an upfront Payments Summary prior to Checkout. This integrations ensures that your customers will not have to wait until they get to the Checkout and Payment page before find out how much they have to pay. This in turn help to Prevent Cart Abandonment's..

Simplified Guest Checkout Options & Optional Signup System Integrations One of the big reason, Customers abandons their Cart is because they are forced into Signup or creating an account before they can buy an item. Creating an account during Checkout process is time intensive and a bad approach and this can make your Customers to immediately abandon their Carts

A buyer is not in your site to create an account. He is there to just buy an item and make payments. Forcing them to compulsory create an account will make them to abandon your Cart. Consequently, We Integrated Guest Checkout Options to allow your Buyers to purchase an item without creating and logging in to an account. This Guest Checkout options tends to reduce carts abandonment and thus provides convenient way for the buyers to make purchase more rapidly.

Additionally, Once Checkout and Payments is completed by the Buyer, the application will send all the purchase item data to the buyers email and optionally ask the Buyer if He or She will like to create an account with the site willingly. The Buyer can choose to create an account then to view and track his or her items or decline and then access her purchase item only from the email that the application send to them.

10.) Save the Cart on Email & Checkout Later Integrations: Sometimes your buyer can postpone the Cart Checkout due some certain reason. some Buyers/Online Shoppers argued that this might be because, Their Credit Card is not with them at Checkout time or that the Card has expired or that there is not enough money in the Card at the time of Checkout. This option allows the buyers to easily save their selected items in the Carts on their email for later purchase.

To save the Cart on the email for later purchase, the application will require the buyer to provide the exact reason or feedback on why he/she is saving the Cart on Email for Later Purchase. The Buyer at his convenient time can click on the link sent to his email address to complete Checkout and make payments. This in turn helps to increase sales conversion rates.

11.) Carts Real-Time Order Summary Updates Integration : We integrated Real-time order summary Updates to notify your buyer about their placed orders in the cart throughout the checkout processes as item is being added and remove to and from the cart. This Real-time Order Summary updates encourages and urges your buyers to be connected to all their selected item through out the checkout process. This ensures that the buyer will know all the item selected in the Cart and the sum total or final amount to pay for all the selected items prior to checkout. This will reduce Cart abandonment by your Customers....

12.) Cart Complement Text Message Integration: Your Customers needs to be appreciated as they add items to their Carts. This integrations adds a Complement Messages like (Wow!!!. You really have a good Taste. This Item You added to Your Cart is Fantastic.)whenever a Products and Items is added to Carts by your Customer. Compliment Message is a great way of Thanking your Customer for adding items to their Carts. This simple Carts Complement Message, will help to reduce Cart Abandonment by appreciating your customers as they add items to carts thus creates an emotional connection of the item by your customers urging them to checkout their carts.

Note: You can easily customize this Cart Complement Text Message. You can also turn it off all from application code at rapyd_settings.php files.

13.) Site & Sales Welcome Text Message Popup Integration: We integrated this option as a way of the site owner to show a welcome message to their Customers that they are in the right site to make purchase. This Welcome text message can also contain the Summary of what the sites sales, Promos, discounts and rewards given to buyers and so on. This is a very good strategy to make your Customer feel happy and relaxed thus urging them to make purchase.

Note: You can easily customize this Site & Sales Text Message. You can also turn it off all from application code at rapyd_settings.php files.

14.) Sales & Payments Tracking with Payments Completion Email Reminders Integrations: We integrated this option to help site owner track all the sales and payments made on his site on a particular item by their customers. It also help the site owner view all their Customers info and shipping's details.

Site Owner can easily track Customers who has completed their Payments with payment status CLO meaning paid & closed along with those customers whose their payment status is ACT meaning Active Payments

For Customers with ACT payment Status, This integration allows the Site owner to send email notification reminders to the customer urging him to complete his/her payments. The Email message will contain a Rapyd Payment Completion URl which will allow the Customers to finish up his payments.

15.) Abandon Cart Tracking with Checkout Email Reminders Integrations: We integrated this option to help site owner track and monitor all the abandon Carts left on his site by their customers.

The integration allows the Site owner to send email notification reminders to the customer urging him to checkout their abandon Carts. The Email message will contain a Customers Updated Abandon Carts Details and a link to complete his/her checkout

16.) Saved Cart for Later Purchase Tracking with Checkout Email Reminders Integrations: We integrated this option to help site owner track and monitor all the carts saved for later purchase on his site by their customers.

As stated earlier, some of your buyers may postpone their Cart Checkout due some certain reason. some argued that this might be because, Their Credit Card is not with them at Checkout time or that the Card has expired or that there is not enough money in the Card at the time of Checkout. whatever be the case.

The integration allows the Site owner to track, view and know the exact reasons/feedback of their customers as to why they saved the Cart for later purchase instead of checking out immediately. This integration also allow site owners to send email notification reminders to the customer urging them to checkout their saved Carts. The Email message will contain a Customers Updated Saved Carts Details and a link to complete his/her checkout

16.) Signed Up Users Tracking and Management System: Like I stated earlier, Forcing your customer to compulsory create an account before they can buy an item is a bad approach and can lead to carts abandonment.

This application also uses guess checkout to allow your customers purchase an item rapidly without the need to create and login into an account. However, upon Customers Checkout and Payments completion, the system will optionally ask your customer to create an account or decline it.

Assuming your customer chooses to creates an account at the end of the transactions, this integration will allow the site owner to view and access all their Customers voluntarily signed up details and be connected to them via Periodic Products Emails messaging Campaign.

17.) Site Owner & Buyers/Online Shoppers Sales Email Notification System: Easily notify the site owner and buyers/customers about detail of any sales and payments directly on their respective email address

18.) Social Networking Button Integrations: This Social Buttons allows your Customers or Online Shoppers to easily share their purchased Items/products on their various Social Network like Facebook, Twitter, Whats-app, WordPress etc. This will facilitate more Products Sales Campaign and high sales conversion rate for the Site Owners.
To prevent your Customers from being distracted from their purchasing experience, we integrated the Social Networking Button to only Pop Up after your Customers/Online Shoppers must have makes a purchase and completed their Payments, thus giving them the option to share your items/products after all their Purchase and Payments Transactions are done.......
