Inspiration
Online furniture shopping can be overwhelming. Users often struggle to find the right product that matches their style, budget, and space. Traditional e-commerce platforms rely heavily on filters and manual browsing, which can feel time-consuming and confusing. We were inspired to simplify this experience by introducing a conversational AI assistant — allowing users to shop the same way they would talk to a salesperson in a physical store. Our goal was simple: Make furniture shopping smarter, faster, and more intuitive using AI.
What it does
AI-Powered Smart Furniture Marketplace is a full-stack e-commerce platform enhanced with a conversational AI assistant. Users can: Discover furniture through natural conversation Get personalized recommendations based on preferences Filter products by budget, category, and style using AI Ask product-related questions instantly Complete purchases seamlessly Instead of navigating complex menus, users simply interact with the AI assistant to find what they need.
How we built it
We built a modern full-stack web application using: Frontend: React / Next.js for a responsive and fast user interface Backend: Node.js with REST APIs for product and user management Database: Structured storage for products, users, and orders AI Integration: Conversational AI model to understand user queries and generate intelligent responses Deployment: Cloud hosting for real-time accessibility The AI assistant processes user input, identifies intent, and dynamically suggests relevant furniture products from the database. Challenges we ran into Designing accurate AI prompts to generate meaningful recommendations Handling conversational context across multiple user queries Connecting AI responses with real product data dynamically Maintaining performance while integrating AI in real-time Ensuring the UI remains simple despite advanced functionality Balancing intelligence with usability was our biggest
technical challenge.
