Inspiration

EcomCalcTools was built to help online sellers figure out their real profit after marketplace fees, ad spend, shipping, returns, and payment costs. Many sellers guess their margins and get surprised by how little is left, so we wanted a free, transparent calculator hub with documented sources, formulas, assumptions, and update dates.

What it does

EcomCalcTools provides free ecommerce fee and profit calculators for online sellers. It covers Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, eBay, TikTok Shop, Walmart, Noon, Stripe, PayPal, marketing ROI, SaaS metrics, and more. Every calculation runs in the browser and cites its sources so users can trust the numbers.

How we built it

We built it as a fast, browser-based tool hub. Calculations run client-side, and each calculator documents its sources, formulas, and assumptions with update dates so sellers can verify the results.

Challenges we faced

Keeping formulas accurate and up to date across many marketplaces and payment providers was the biggest challenge. Fees change often, so we built clear documentation and update tracking into every calculator.

What we learned

Sellers care most about clarity and trust. Publishing sources and assumptions alongside each result made the tools far more useful than a black-box number.
