🌱 EcoLoop - Our Story 🔥 What inspired us? The idea behind EcoLoop came from a shared feeling: many people want to protect the planet, but they don’t know where to start — or if their actions really matter.

We're surrounded by climate data, but often lack clear, actionable guidance for daily life.

We wanted to close that loop: turning good intentions into measurable impact, in a fun, accessible, and global way.

That’s how EcoLoop was born.

How to build a cross-platform app using Expo and expo-router

How to implement full multilingual support with i18next

How to balance design, functionality, and social impact

How to structure a scalable backend using Supabase

How to apply accessibility and gamification best practices

Backend: Supabase (Auth, Database, APIs)

i18n: i18next + react-i18next (English & Spanish)

Navigation: expo-router (Universal navigation for web and mobile)

Web Hosting: Vercel

Plans system: RevenueCat (Free / Pro / Family)

🚧 Challenges we faced Designing a UI that works seamlessly across mobile and web

Implementing multilingual support from day one

Creating realistic CO₂ estimates with simple user inputs

Balancing gamification while keeping real-world impact front and center

Structuring the subscription plans (Free, Pro, Family) without overwhelming the user

⚙️ Subscriptions (MVP Stage) EcoLoop is built with support for subscription-based plans in mind:

Free Plan: Basic logging and dashboard

Pro Plan: Advanced analytics, personalized goals, data export

Family Plan: Shared dashboards, group challenges, up to 5 users

🧪 Currently, subscriptions are part of the MVP design, but not fully functional yet. You can test each plan’s experience by logging in and exploring the features available for each tier.

✨ The Result A platform where anyone can track their footprint, take action, and compete in a global leaderboard — making environmental impact visible, rewarding, and motivating.

EcoLoop is more than an app — it's an invitation to build sustainable habits, one step at a time.
