Problem

EcoLife has been facing trouble with collecting data: to being offline and having to collect information manually, efficiency is out of reach. The system is out of date, the company is trying to reduce human error and lower the amount of time spent, which can increase productivity with their projects if solved. EcoLife is trying to keep their eyes on the bigger picture.

Their goal is to create a software that is more efficient and works offline, because they are constantly in areas that do not have cellular networks available.

Solution

Our goal was to create software that allows the user to input crucial data about their findings-- and be able to upload the files when they are back online so they have the ability to create a final spreadsheet in Google Earth.

Inputs

  1. Photo
  2. GPS Location (Lat & Long)
  3. Date of Stove Installation
  4. Date Recorded
  5. Adress
  6. Residents
  7. Stove Maintenance
  8. Stove Type (serial numbers)
  9. Data Recorded by
  10. Profile ID Number

Outputs

  • Spreadsheet in Google Earth
  • Analytics
  • Connect Donor to Family
  • Maps/Graphs

Challenges

Our goal was to create a system that allows the user to take photos, record GPS location and additional information. One major challenge that we faced as a team stemmed from our lack of experience of developing applications. Due to this, we were not able to fulfill all of the requirements. In our final product, we were able to record GPS location.
