Inspiration
Our inspiration was that climate change and global warming are very grave problems in our world today. So, we decided to create a website to calculate how much we are impacting the environment each day and what we can do to help slow down climate change.
What it does
Our website can calculate the impact that people have on the environment through their everyday actions. Our website also has the option to try to improve the user's fitness, create eco-friendly recipes, and news on the enviornment.
How we built it
We built this website on Replit and used HTML/CSS to create the user interface and used JavaScript to make all of the parts of the website work. We tried to use GoogleMapsAPI to try to find the nearby restaurants fitting the user's requirements.
Challenges we ran into
When we tried to get GoogleMapsAPI into our code, we realized that we learned the legacy documentation, but Google changed the current documentation, so we had to read documentation and learn a new thing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We persevered through the challenges of GoogleMapsAPI.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate GoogleMapsAPI into websites.
What's next for EcoLife
We envision adding more stuff like AI and making the API work for EcoLife.
