Inspiration

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity, yet most sustainability tools present information through static dashboards, charts, and carbon calculators. While these tools provide data, they rarely help people experience the future consequences of their decisions.

We wanted to create something different.

EcoLens-Pro was inspired by a simple question:

"What if people could step into the future and see how today's sustainability decisions shape tomorrow's world?"

Instead of tracking emissions, EcoLens-Pro allows users to explore alternate futures, simulate environmental policies, visualize climate outcomes, and experience the long-term impact of their choices through immersive storytelling, AI-powered simulations, and interactive digital worlds.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was balancing ambitious climate simulations with a frontend-only architecture.

We faced challenges such as:

  • Designing immersive climate experiences without a backend
  • Optimizing AI requests to work within free-tier limits
  • Building large-scale visual simulations while maintaining performance
  • Creating meaningful climate storytelling instead of simple text generation
  • Connecting multiple complex features into one cohesive ecosystem

Another challenge was ensuring that each feature felt unique while contributing to a larger narrative about sustainability and future decision-making.
