About EcoLens+ Why We Built It We noticed something important: Most people actually want to live more sustainably — but it’s really hard to see whether our actions are making any difference.

That’s where the idea for EcoLens+ started. We wanted to build something that makes your environmental impact visible, measurable, and a little more fun.

📊 Carbon Calculator You enter your lifestyle details and EcoLens+ estimates your footprint with personalized tips to reduce it . 📈 Insights Dashboard This shows your emissions, progress trends, and even your tree-equivalent savings — so you can actually see the difference.

🎯 Habit Challenges Small eco-habits like biking, public transport, saving electricity, or meatless days — with streaks, points, and rewards to keep you motivated.

🔍 EcoScan Search or scan a product and get a simple breakdown of: Eco-score Carbon impact Waste & disposal guidance Sustainable alternatives

🌿 MyEcoBloom Your digital plant grows as you make greener choices — a calm way to emotionally connect with your progress.

How We Built It We built EcoLens+ as a full-stack web application using: React for the frontend Node.js / Express for the backend MongoDB for storing user data Vercel + Render for deployment We also spent time researching realistic CO₂ estimation models so the numbers feel meaningful but not overwhelming.

A big focus for us was UI and emotional experience — we wanted EcoLens+ to feel positive, gentle, encouraging, and not guilt-based. What We Learned Some key things we learned while building this: People stay motivated when they can actually see their progress Sustainability shouldn’t feel stressful — design really helps Simple language works better than complex environmental jargon Building multiple features into one platform requires careful planning Real-time feedback loops make eco-actions feel rewarding

Challenges We Faced Like any project, it wasn’t smooth all the way 😭 Some major challenges were: Finding the right balance between accuracy and simplicity Designing a clean UI while showing lots of data Structuring rewards and challenges without it feeling like pressure Keeping the experience smooth and bug-free across features But solving these helped us make the platform better.
